There are several reasons I have always lived in a city.

The rooster may crow but the hen delivers the goods.
I saw a YouTube video so I put a really tight rubber band around my rooster's neck and he was barely able to croak before he croaked and then I ate him. Feathers and all.
Batavia, for real.
Lots of people have "urban chickens" in Batavia. I was under the impression that having a rooster was not permitted...but we don't want a rooster anyway. We don't need more chickens, we just want eggs!
Jason - I just checked the City Code and there's nothing prohibiting them.
Nothing like a thoughtful neighbor with a rooster crowing loud enough to raise the dead at the crack of dawn in a city. Some people work the night shift.
