Nothing suspicious in death of person at 400 Towers whose body wasn't discovered until much later

posted by Howard B. Owens in 400 Towers, batavia.

Investigators found nothing suspicious in the death of a resident of 400 Towers whose body was discovered Friday morning and had apparently been dead for a long period of time.

Batavia PD spokesman Det. Eric Hill said there is no exact time of death for the male resident, but that he had been dead for an extended period of time before his body was found.

WBTA, our news partner, attempted to contact leadership at the Batavia Housing Authority, which runs 400 Towers, for comment on the situation, but the calls were not returned.

In response to our question about whether this sort of circumstance is rare or common, Hill said, "It’s not unusual for a person to be deceased for a while before they are found. It’s also not something that we keep records on so I couldn’t say if it happens more often at one place than another."

Hill said the name of the deceased is being withheld out of respect for the family. He did say the deceased had a number of medical conditions.

This is why I want to live until every person I have ever known or loved or had any care about me is long dead and gone. Yes, the story of Jesus loves me is nice but it's total bullshit. What you say? Bullshit. Stepped in what?
At least he doesn't know he is dead because he is now.

Sorry, Howard, but I couldn't let this one slide without commenting on it. I'm guessing I'll probably catch flak for it, but, oh well.

Who's is a contraction of "who is".
The header of this post, along with the first sentence, should be using the word "whose".

I'm the copy editor and I caught the error more an hour after the story was posted. I edit catch-as-catch-can and this happens. I wince, and apologize.

No biggie, Billie. It happens.
I remember my resume' writing days. I'd proofread them 4 or 5 times 'til I got 'em right, only to discover, weeks later, after I mailed them, some obvious blunder.
I think my forehead has a permanent indentation from those "Duh!" moments.

There is more to this story, but I mean to speak to Billie or Howard first before making more comment. All I CAN say though is there will be no comment from the admin. There is a reason for that.
