New Hochul ad touts newspaper endorsements

By Howard B. Owens

Press release:

ERIE COUNTY – Kathy Hochul, candidate for New York’s 26th Congressional District, today released a new television advertisement entitled “Look For Yourself.”

The 30-second ad speaks to the false attacks Jane Corwin has made about Kathy Hochul’s plan to preserve and protect Social Security and Medicare.

“In a desperate attempt to distract voters, Jane Corwin has created a false attack on Kathy Hochul that the Buffalo News has called an ‘attempt to deflect attention from her support’ of the Republican budget that would decimate Medicare, while giving massive tax breaks to multi-millionaires and billionaires,” said Fabien Levy, Director of Communications for Kathy Hochul for Congress.

“Independent sources have said ‘don’t believe’ Jane Corwin’s ad and called it ‘bogus.’

“The Buffalo News agrees, Kathy Hochul has the right approach to fixing and protecting Medicare for future beneficiaries and that ‘she understands health care for seniors to be an appropriate federal issue, while Corwin does not,’” Levy continued."

Endorsed by mainstream media? Yet another reason NOT to vote for her.

Corwin? I absolutely despise the fact that she is just another spoiled rich kid being force fed to us by a few republican elites that think we work for them. And whatever happened to her promised self financing of her campaign? Typical candidate empty promise.

Davis? As much as I want to, I can't bring myself to trust him. I do respect his business acumen.

Bellavia? An honorable man that is my 1st choice - but with no chance of winning.

Ian who?

Sorry, Jeff, but I just don't know enough about you.

This would be the first election I've sat out since 1972, but I believe it is our God given responsibility to vote. No matter who I vote for, Davis or Corwin, when I "pull the lever" I'll be holding my nose - just the same as every election in not so recent history.

It'll probably be Davis, due to Bellavia's endorsement and Corwin's campaign.

Bob, let me introduce myself. I am a 44 year old husband who married my high school sweetheart 24 years ago. We have two children, my son just graduated from UB with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and my daughter is graduating from high school in a few weeks. I have worked for the Department of Corrections for 23 years. I am a Christian who stands firmly on the values laid out in Scripture. I volunteer quite extensively, regularly with Care-a-Van ministries and The Genesee Area Mens Prayer Breakfast. In my role as "speaker coordinator" I have brought several well-known Christian speakers to the Oakfield high school including Dave Dravecky, Frank Reich, Ted DiBiase, Adolph Coors IV, Apollo 15 astronaut Charles Duke, Dr. Kevin Leman, and more. I am a credentialed Critical Incident Debriefer who assists local first responders after bad calls with the Western New York Stress Reduction Team. Along with my wife, we are involved in Disaster Management and between the two of us have responded to 9/11, several plane crashes, the Southeast Asian Tsunami, and Hurricane Katrina. I believe strongly in what I am doing and would love your support. I am not a politician, I punch a time clock everyday, I live on a middle income wage, and I am tired of the current political system and decided not to sit on the sidelines. Please don't hold your nose when you vote and please don't stay home. This video clip says alot about why I'm doing what I'm doing.

First, I'd like to thank you, Howard, for this site. It is one of the few places where people of different views actually dialogue with hardly any name calling.

Jeff, thanks for the bio. You deserve to be proud of your accomplishments! Even though I haven't met any of the posters on here, I feel like I know them.
