I recently won two tickets to the January 21st Presidential Inauguration through Senator Chuck Schumer's office. I cannot attend and would like someone to be able to use them. They are reserved tickets in the Union Square. You will have to provide identification and pass through a security checkpoint. Details can be found at :

The president is already in office. Why does the American tax payers have to pay for another inauguration ? How many Millions of dollars is this costing us ? Just another big waste of money !!

@ Lisa - These tickets were given to my husband, we are not supporters either. However, some people are and for that reason alone we are giving the tickets away. This is our country's history whether we like it or not. I do not need to be YELLED (in capitals) at in a forum for being nice. @ Ricky - this has been going on for years costing us millions. Lisa,if you don't like the way this country is run-please move to Canada or Mexico or any other and get out of it. Geesh,someone nice enough to offer tickets to a special thing,and you cry and moan. Did you make this big a deal when past presidents were re-elected and had their second inauguration? Not a fan of politicians,but I think it would be a neat thing to attend.

Whether you like Obama or not, even if you believe he's a socialist, he's still our president. This is still the United States. This is still a part of history. To me, if you love this country, this would be an opportunity of a lifetime, not something to scorn.

Actually, there is still
Actually, there is still plenty of lodging space available, even to the extent that many hotels have been dropping their rates and are still unable to fill the spaces. The historical significance came and went four years ago.
This is the type of event, just like the Super Bowl or the Daytona 500, the best actual place to watch is in the comfort of your own home. The couch is far more soft and roomy, the fridge is just a few steps away, and best of all - you don't have to stand in line for an hour to use a porta-potty.

The tickets are spoken for and a father /son team will be attending and are excited for the chance. I added the stipulation that they take pictures and post them on Facebook. Lisa, it really was about providing someone with a rare opportunity outside of partisanship and divisiveness. Thanks honey for clarifying while I was at work. Wow Bob you actually surprise me with this comment. Why get upset with Lisa's comment about how Obama is running this country? Who saids this is the only time she became upset about wasting tax dollars? I rather see the socialists get kicked out. As far as the tickets good, why bother? The double talk by Obama amazes me and besides Michelle Obama set a under 600 calorie meal law in our schools to help keep our children healthy. Yet, the Obamas did not care about keeping the fat cats of our government healthy with a 3000 calories luncheon. Correct me if I am wrong but, do not children burn calories quicker and more efficient than, middle and late age fat cat politicians?

Did I hear this Inauguration party cost us tax payers $41 Million? If these numbers are true, I think I would have more respect for Obama if he said something like, "Tough times all over our country, lets find a better place to spend this money instead of blowing it in one day" But on the other hand, our country is "ONLY" 100 TRILLION in debt so whats another 41 MILLION? Stupid people are running OUR Country !!!!!!

Every Inauguration has become a big spectacle. It isn't just an Obama thing, nor a Democrat thing. Bush's inaugurations were big expenses, too.
We need to stop calling them Inaugurations. They're really coronations for our imperial presidents.
