Joan M. Ellis, 93, of Corfu, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 27, 2025, with her children by her side.
Joan was born in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Herbert and Cornelia Schwab Kaufman. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Ellis USMC.
Joan was a devoted member of St. Francis/St. Maximilian Church in Corfu, and served as the organist and vocalist for many years. She was a retired bus driver for the Pembroke Central School District. Joan’s great joys were playing the organ and singing and loved to have family gatherings.
Surviving are her dear children; Jack (Debi) Ellis, Mark (Donna) Ellis, Timothy Ellis, Thomas Ellis, Christopher Ellis, Philip (Catie) Ellis, Mary (Darren) Zingerman, Frederick Ellis and Robert Ellis; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren along with a host of dear friends.
Family and friends may call Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu, NY. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 5771 Buell Street, Akron, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any hospice facility of the donors choosing.
