LeRoy ~ Joanne Maureen (Merica) Pangrazio was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, foster mother and friend. Joanne passed peacefully surrounded by family on May 20, 2025 at the age of 83. She was born in Batavia, NY on April 3, 1942.

She was the heart of her family – gentle, nurturing, and endlessly giving. Her greatest joys were found in her children, the beauty of nature, and the quiet presence of birds and wildlife. She lived each day with love and grace, always putting others before herself. Her spirit was a light to all who knew her, and her care knew no bounds.
Being a foster parent for so many years, along with her husband, Don, Joanne was recognized with the Fresh Air Fund Award of Merit for 26 years of participation, along with the Genesee County Special Parent Award for 49 years of service with the county. She was LeRoy Woman’s Club Woman of the Month and also enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader, where she assisted in organizing and hosting the Summer Camp.
She is survived by her husband and best friend Donald Jr.; her children, Donna (Jim) Kwiatkowski, Don (Sandy) Pangrazio, Dawn (Chris) Suriano, and Joni Pangrazio; Grandchildren, Travis (Brooke) Fenstermaker, Tyler (Montana) Fenstermaker, Trent (Caitlin) Fenstermaker, Donny Pangrazio, Briana (Steve) Stoffa, Nate Pangrazio, Sebastian Suriano, Isabelle (Tanner) Suriano, Wyatt Draper, and Seth Draper; Great Grandchildren, Julian Fenstermaker and Sophie Stoffa, brothers in-law Ken John, Don Keil, along with many cherished foster children who are invited to sit with the family at the service.
Joanne was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Orpha Merica and her sisters, Karen John, Mary Anne White and Nancy Keil.
Family and friends are invited to her Rite of Christian Burial to be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter’s Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
