It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister and daughter, Tanya Danesh, who left us on May 23rd, 2025. Born on August 6th, 1966, Tanya was a beacon of love and joy in our lives. Despite her mental handicap, she touched the hearts of those close to her through her spirited and precocious nature.
Since the age of five, Tanya lived under the care of the state. We are grateful for the patience and love of her caregivers over the many years, and especially those who formed a special bond and took extra special care of her. You know who you are! Despite the inability to speak, Tanya still managed to form bonds, tease, laugh and light up those around her. Her presence taught us the true meaning of compassion, patience, and unconditional love.
She is survived by both of her parents, Norma and Sadegh Danesh, her brothers David Danesh (partner Logan) and Robert Danesh (partner Kathleen), and her nieces Anna, Sarah, Madelyn and Arya and nephew Eli. The family will forever cherish the beautiful moments shared with her. Tanya's legacy will continue to inspire us to protect the rights and quality of life for those with disabilities, to be kinder, more understanding, and to appreciate the simple joys in life.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 28 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E Main St, Batavia, NY 14020. Her burial and funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Cemetery, Harvester Avenue, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made online at arcmonroefoundation.org, or checks can be mailed to The Arc Foundation of Monroe, 2060 Brighton Henrietta Townline Road, Rochester, NY 14623 in memory of Tanya to support others in their time of need.
