Boris “Pop” Tkatschenko, 86, of Alexander passed away in his home on November 16,  2015. He was born in The Ukraine on April 10, 1929.  Boris is predeceased by his wife Walburga (Dietrich) Tkatschenko.

Boris worked in New Jersey building oxygen machines until his retirement in 1994, bringing his love for building and fixing with him as he and his wife Wally moved to upstate New York. With a watchful eye and a lovingly stern word Boris watched over his grandchildren through the years and in his later years grew more loving and sweet with every passing day. He also loved cooking, fishing, caring for his gardens, tinkering, building things in his basement workshop and meals with his family. He and his wonderful Ukrainian accent will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his 4 children; Daniel (Kim) Tkatschenko of Attica, Boris Jr. Tkatschenko and Heidi (James) Knight both of Bound Brook, NJ and Vera (Kendall) Nodes of Warsaw; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
