Mrs. Carole L. Butler, 77, of Attica passed away Tuesday December 1, 2015 at Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born January 27, 1938 in Buffalo, New York to the late Franklin J. and Evelyn C. (Steiger) Wald of Attica. She is preceded in death by her sister Mary June Hall.
 
Carole was a graduate of University at Buffalo Nursing School and employed as an RN at Wyoming County Community Hospital for many years, later to become director of nursing of that facility.  Not only did she run the nursing facility and hospital, she also was a member of the OTB board of Directors, former Chairwoman of Wyoming County, Republican Chairman, Councilperson for the Warsaw Town Board, Trustee of the Warsaw Village Board and on the Library Board.   In addition, she opened Manor Oak nursing facility. She was also a “mom” to many of the neighborhood kids.
 
She is survived by her companion James Foley; children Stacey and Douglas Butler and grandchildren Tanner and Kelly Butler.
 
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday December 4, 2015 from 3PM – 7PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC 135 Main Street Attica, New York 14011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 5, 2015 at St. Joachim & Anne 50 East Avenue Attica, New York 14011. She will be laid to rest in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Attica.
