Age 59, of Batavia, died peacefully Wednesday January 27, 2016 at Crossroads House surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 28, 1956 in Batavia, NY son of Joseph and Frances (Colantonio) Marcello of Batavia.
Nick was employed at National Grid and was also a cashier for OTB and a member of the former St. Nick's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the casino's, playing cards, horse racing and was an avid sports fan, always cheering on his hometown favorite, Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. Nick enjoyed animals and was always up for a good joke, but near and dear to him, was his wife and family.
Surviving along with his parents is his loving wife of 19 years, Cindy (Vigneri) Marcello of Batavia; step-son, John Silvernail of Batavia; brothers, Joseph (Denise) Marcello of MS, Phil (Kim) Marcello of Batavia, Mark (Roni) Marcello of Batavia; sisters, Ava (Ron) King of Batavia and Lori (Bob) Waite of Batavia; mother-in-law, Alice (late Philip) Vigneri of Batavia; brothers-in-law, Pat (Amanda) Vigneri of Batavia, Phil (Janette) Vigneri of Elba; sisters-in-law, Cathy (Dave) Vigneri of Sidney, NY and Patti (late David) Brandes of Rochester along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
There is no prior visitation, the family requests you join them in celebrating Nick's Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am Monday February 1, 2016 at Ascension Parish (corner of Swan and Sumner Sts.). Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery and in lieu of flowers memorials in his memory can be made to Crossroads House 11 Liberty Street or Volunteers for Animals/Genesee County Animal Shelter 3841 West Road Batavia, New York 14020.
