Genevieve M. Mudrzynski

Elba - Genevieve M. Mudrzynski, 90, of Elba, passed away Tuesday, (February 16, 2016) at the Genesee County Nursing Home, in Batavia.

Mrs. Mudrzynski was born January 10, 1926 in Oakfield, a daughter of the late Orin and Mabel (Kingdom) Dutton.

A member of Elba United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Elba Historical Society, Elba Grange and the Home Bureau in Elba.

She enjoyed square dancing with her late husband, Walter and playing bingo.

Mrs. Mudrzynski loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a tremendous affection for animals and especially enjoyed the animals that were brought to the Genesee County Nursing Home during her time there. Mrs. Mudrzynski enjoyed visiting with the staff, other residents and everyone who came to the facility.

Genevieve's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Genesee County Nursing Home for the compassionate care they provided to their mother while she resided at the nursing home.

She is the wife of the late Walter Mudrzynski, who passed away July 25, 1999.

Genevieve is survived by her children, David (Susan) Mudrzynski and Dan (Penny) Mudrzynski both of Elba; her grandchildren, Jeff (Nicole) Mudrzynski of Batavia, Jennifer (Jack) Gang of Williamsville, John (Carrie) Mudrzynski, Bradley (Melissa) Mudrzynski, Brian (Kimberly) Walczak, and Jill Hart all of Elba; great-grandchildren, Mary, John, and Claudia Gang; Daniel, Nathan, Joseph, and Derek Mudrzynski; Brynn, Colton, and Jake Walczak; and Justin Hart; brothers-in-law, Anthony Mudrzynski of Oakfield; Henry (Janet) Mudrzynski of Batavia; and Ralph Bauer of Oakfield.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She is predeceased by her siblings, Bruce, Lloyd, Gilbert and Laverne Dutton and Ruth Gould; and her sisters-in-law, Amelia Brown, Josephine Mudrzynski, Bernice Marble, Helen Bauer, and Helen Mudrzynski.

Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, where Genevieve’s Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.  The Rev. Harold Coller will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elba Fire Department-Rescue Squad, PO Box 58, Elba, NY 14058 or the Elba United Methodist Church, 8 Chapel Street, Elba, NY 14058.  Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba.
