Age 51, of Batavia, died peacefully Friday morning March 4, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born October 28, 1964 in Rochester, NY, a son of the late Paul McDonald and Barbara (Provenzano) and James Samberg of Webster.     

Mike was a 1982 graduate of Aquinas Institute and a member of Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph's). He was an avid sports fan and was very active in local youth sports along with his involvement with his boys and their activities. He enjoyed golf, participated in the local men's hockey league, was a youth football coach, little league baseball coach and a volunteer for Notre Dame High School football. 

Surviving along with his father, his pride and joy, sons, Cam and Aaron McDonald both of Batavia; loving sisters, Martha Smith of Rochester, Margo Conheady of Rochester, Meghan (Scott Boone) McDonald of Scottsville and dear brother, Mark (Jacquie) McDonald of Atlanta, GA; his former wife, Kelly McDonald along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  

The McDonald family will be present from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Wednesday March 9, 2016 at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York where prayers will be recited 9:30am Thursday March 10 followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph's Site), celebrated by Rev. Bill Donnelly. Memorials in his memory can be made to Notre Dame High School 73 Union Street Batavia, New York 14020.
