FRANCES DeFAZIO

Age 93, of Batavia, died peacefully Friday evening March 4, 2016 at St. John's Home in Rochester with her family at her side. She was born March 9, 1922 in Batavia, NY, a daughter of the late John and Antoinette (Ingro) Castronova; also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Angelo DeFazio in 2004 and her loving son, Charles A. DeFazio, just one month ago on February 3, 2016; six sisters and 2 brothers are predeceased. 

Frances was a member of Resurrection Parish (former St. Mary's) and worked for the Batavia City School District in the cafeteria for many years. She enjoyed working in her garden, cooking, baking and she now leaves a lifelong legacy of love to her family. 

Surviving are her children, daughters, Maryann (Joseph) Refici of Rochester, Jean (Scott Brown) Peca of Batavia and son, Thomas DeFazio of Florida; 4 grandchildren, David (Loren) Refici, Joseph Refici, Jill (John) Kratz and Jaime Peca; 7 great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Kaitlin & Colin Kratz, Giada Peca, Trevor, Nathan & Zane Refici along with several nieces and nephews.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

 The family will be present to mourn Frances and Charles on Tuesday March 8, 2016 from 4 - 8pm at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where prayers will be recited 10:30am Wednesday March 9 followed by celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial for both Frances and Charles at Resurrection Parish (St. Mary's Site).  Entombment will be in the Monsignor Francis L. Schwartz Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery along with military honors for Charles. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Home 150 Highland Ave. Rochester, NY 14620 or the Alzheimers Association, WNY Chapter 2805 Wehrle Drive Ste. 6 Williamsville, New York 14221.
