Gerald L. Merrill

Warsaw ~ Gerald L. Merrill, age 80 , of Short Street, passed away on Tuesday morning (March 22, 2016) at the East Side Nursing Home.

      He was born November 24, 1935 in Warsaw, N.Y., a son of the late LaVerne and Geraldine Whitmore Merrill.

      Mr. Merrill was veteran of the U S Army and served in Germany.  He was a member of the Warsaw Fire Department and enjoyed driving truck for Baker and Baker milk haulers.  Aside from his family, his next biggest passion was doing mechanic work, especially on the trucks at Potter DeWitt, where he worked for many years.

     He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Lee Donnelly Merrill; his daughter, Linda L. Merrill of Warsaw; his son, Robert (Karen) Merrill of Richfield, OH; his brother, Donald Merrill of Warsaw; his sisters, Barbara Ewell of FL and Lori Merrill (Charlotte Hamon) of Warsaw; his sister-in-law, Patricia Merrill of LeRoy, along with many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Norman, Roger, David and James (Diana), and his brother-in-law, Vincent Ewell.

     Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 24 from 3 ~ 7 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19 north), LeRoy, where services will be held at 7 PM.  Interment in the Warsaw Cemetery will be private.
