Mrs. Ruth L. Volk, 81, of Oakfield.

Mrs. Ruth L. Volk, 81, of Oakfield -- Bookkeeper for the former Ashland Oil in Oakfield, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at her home.

Mrs. Volk was born February 21, 1929 in Brockport, a daughter of the late Chester and Alice Amish Hart.

Mrs. Volk volunteered her time helping with Meals on Wheels and loved her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roy Richard "Dick" Volk. Together, their favorite song was “It had to be you”. Also surviving are three daughters, Linda (John) Wandryk of Texas, Gina Volk and Sharon Volk, both of Rochester; a son, John (Robin) Volk of Oakfield; nine grandchildren, Sarah (Mark) Salerno, April (Gary) Adams, Angela (Brett) Walker, Anna Volk-Veasey, Richard Volk, Kimberly Volk, Lisa Volk, Geoffery Pawalczyk and Katrina Pawalczyk; five great-grandchildren, Grace, Paul, Lilly, Jack and Amelia; a brother, George (Elsie) Hart of Rochester; three sisters, Martha Parker of Jacksonville, Florida, Elizabeth Lamb of Rochester and Marion (Maurice) Harrison of Batavia; and several nieces and nephews. She is the grandmother of the late Steven Volk and sister of the late Raymond, Dean and Glenn Hart, Jennie Parker and Dorothy Brown.

Friends are invited to stop by Mr. Volk’s home on Maltby Road at your convenience to pay your respects.
