Esther Thom

Batavia – Miss Esther Thom, of Batavia, a secretary at Monroe Palburn, Inc. in West Seneca prior to her retirement, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility.

Miss Thom was born in Batavia, a daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Werner) Thom.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Batavia and a 1934 Graduate of Batavia High School.

She is survived by her niece, Jackie Digons of Mattituck; 3 great-nephews, Peter Digons of Charlotte, NC, Eric Digons of North Easton, MA and Luke Digons of Brookline, MA and 1 great-niece, Leigh Digons of NY, NY. 

She was the sister of the late Joseph Thom, Edward Thom, Margaret Thom, Cecelia Wasnick, Theresa Thom and Florence Thom.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co, Inc., 403 East Main St., Batavia, where services will follow at 4 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Homecare & Hospice, 29 Liberty St., Suite #6, Batavia, NY 14020 or to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Rd, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.  Private burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.  Please leave a condolence, share a story or light a candle at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com.
