Everett H. Roda

Byron - Mr. Everett H. Roda, 91, of Byron, died Monday, (April 5, 2010)at the United Memorial Medical Center.

Mr. Roda was born January 31, 1919 in Byron, the son of the late Albert and Blanche (Fidinger) Roda.

He was the Highway Superintendent for the town of Byron and was a member the Byron Presbyterian Church. Mr. Roda was a great sportsman, avid outdoorsman and he took great pleasure in riding his four-wheeler. A World War II veteran with the United States Army, he was awarded a Purple Heart as a result of being injured in combat at the Battle of the Bulge.

He is survived by his wife, Alice “Jean” Roda of Byron and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is predeceased by his sister, Gladys Kreger.  

Calling hours are Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Services will be at 3:00 p.m., also on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Byron Cemetery.
