Batavia - Berta M. Poole, 73, of Batavia, and Paden City, WV, a former employee in the bakery at Jubilee Foods in Batavia, died Friday, July 15, 2016 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, in Wheeling, WV.

Mrs. Poole was born April 23, 1943 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Raymond and Arlene (Dunham) Little.

She was a member of the Oakfield United Methodist Church, Corfu Garden Club and was an avid quilter, gardener and baker.  She served as a secretary and past president and was active for over 50 years with the Town of Batavia Fire Department Auxiliary and was as active firefighter with the fire department for 30 years. 

She is survived by her husband, Gregory A.  Poole, whom she married on May 18, 1963; 3 children,  Tammy (Robert) D'Agostino of Oakfield, Raymond (Suzanne) Cassata Poole of Canandaigua and Charlene Poole of Batavia; 6 grandchildren, Ronald, Christopher, Dominic, Kyle, Tyler and Justin and 2 great-granddaughters, Nuria and Fatima; a sister, Sally (George) Bell of Batavia and several nieces and nephews. 

She was the mother of the late Wendy L. Poole.  

Private Services will be at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 20 North Pointe, Suite #130, Amherst, NY 14228.  Private burial will be at Cary Cemetery in Oakfield.  Arrangements were completed by Burdett and Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Ave. in Oakfield, NY.   Please leave a condolence, share a story or light a candle at www.burdettandsanford.com.
