Robert D. "Bob" Blew

Robert D. “Bob” Blew, 82 of Basom passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday August 4, 2016 at Medina Memorial Hospital. He was born September 30, 1933 in Indian Lake, NY to the late Robert “Bill” (Dorothy King) Blew. Mr. Blew is preceded death by a daughter-in-law Patricia Blew, his brothers Harold and Bernard Blew.

Mr. Blew was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish, NYS Farm Equipment Dealers Association, NYS Christmas Tree Growers Association, and the National Camel Club. Bob graduated from Alfred Ag & Tech with a degree in Agricultural Engineering, and was a member of Gama Theta Gama Fraternity. He owned and operated Blew Equipment, Inc. in Akron and the family farm Golden Blew Acres where they focused mainly on Christmas Trees and Exotic Animals. Bob loved caring for all of the animals but his greatest love was being in the company of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Rebecca V. (Simpson) Blew of Basom; children Terry (Barbara) Blew of Alabama, NY; Larry (Fiancé Elnora) Blew of Nyack, NY; Sherry (Bob) Valvo, Merry (Henry) Stachowski both of Batavia; Garry (Charise) Blew of Alabama, NY; 19 grandchildren Brooke (Eric) Mann, Justin (Yvette) Blew, Nathan (Michelle) Blew, Annie (Brennan) Morrison, Daniel Blew, Stephanie (John) Gianidda, Geoffrey (Andrea) Blew, Samantha (Fiancé Taylor) Valvo, Courtney (Joey) Baker, Joseph Stachowski, Ashley Stachowski, Anthony, Jacob, and Zachary Blew, Brandon (Samantha) Hall, Kyle Hall, Dominic (Vanessa) Anastasia, Derek (Fiancé Sarah) Harris, and Chanice Harris; 19 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.  

Friends are invited to call on Saturday August 6, 2016 from 10 to 11AM at St. Padre Pio Parish 56 Maple Ave. Oakfield, NY 14125. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at the Church 11:00AM on Saturday. He will be laid to rest in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Oakfield.
