  Mark A. Nestor, 73 of Batavia passed away on Thursday August 4, 2016 at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia. He was born on November 6, 1942 in Pittsburg, PA to the late James Nestor and Elsie (Johnson) Nestor. He is preceded in death by siblings Dennis Nestor and Janice Meinel.

Mr. Nestor was a United States Navy Veteran and served admirably in Vietnam. He enjoyed playing tennis, music and was an avid card player. Mark was a car enthusiast and loved Saab’s. He was above all else a family man and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife Catherine (Macheda) Nestor of Batavia; daughters Marie (Tom) Martell of Oakfield; Jennifer (Paul) Ko of Princeton, NJ; sister Loretta Branciforte of Batavia; 4 grandchildren Olivia and Dylan Ko, Sophia and Malena Martell, along with several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday August 7, 2016 from 2:00-6:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. Prayers will be recited 9:00AM on Monday August 8, 2016 at the Funeral Home followed by a 9:30AM Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish 18 Ellicott St. Batavia, NY 14020. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
