Merle G. Quinn

Batavia - Merle G. Quinn, 78, of Batavia, a Surgical Technician at Wyoming County Community Hospital, died Friday, August 12, 2016 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.

Mr. Quinn was born February 4, 1938 in Batavia, a son of the late Thomas and Ninabel (Merle) Quinn.

He served with the Air Force, Marine Corps and the Navy from 1956 to 1972 and was trained as a medic stationed in Libya.  He coached and played softball with the Baptist Church in Attica and was an avid bowler in many local leagues.

His wife, Marlene M. (Austin) Quinn, died October 7, 2015.

Survivors include 4 children, Shawn M. Quinn (H. Bruce Henning) of Hemlock, Lisa (Ronald L.) Worthington and Timothy A. Quinn, both of Batavia and Kevin L. (Tanya) Quinn of Alden; 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. 

He was the brother of the late Patrick Quinn, Bruce Quinn, Thomas E. Quinn, Ann Wilchak and Mary E. Quinn.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at H.E. Turner & Co., Funeral Home, 403 E, Main St., Batavia, where services will immediately follow at 11 a.m.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Batavia VA Medical Center, 222 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, NY 14020.  Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia.  Please leave a condolence, share a story or light a candle at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com.
