Helen C. Miner

Helen C. Miner 89 of Rochester, formerly of Batavia, died May 17, 2010 at the Park Ridge Living Center in Rochester.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Raymond C. Miner of Rochester; sons R. Charles (Marguerite F.) Miner of Buffalo; Gregory J. (Susan V.) Miner of Portland, OR; daughters Catherine M. (George A.) Criticos of Rochester, and Mary Margaret Miner of Winston Salem, NC; sister Marian (James) McLellan of Buffalo; sister-in-law Patricia Maney of Leroy; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren survive along with several nieces and nephews.  

Mrs. Miner pursued a Master’s Degree at Catholic University in Washington, DC, after graduating from D’Youville College in 1942.

She began her teaching career at Alexander Central and

continued as a High School Drama Teacher at Attica Central School and as a substitute at Notre Dame and Batavia High Schools.

She was a member of Resurrection Parish (St. Mary’s Church) in Batavia for many years.

Preceded in death by her parents William G. (Louise Brown) Maney, a son Peter W. Miner, brother John Maney and a twin sister Margaret Maney.

No prior calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish (St Joseph’s Church) 303 E. Main St. Batavia, 12:00 Noon on Friday May 21st.

The family will receive guests following the committal service at Terry Hill’s Restaurant 5122 Clinton St. Rd. Batavia.  

Burial in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.
