Bernice I. Ianni

Oakfield - Mrs. Bernice I. Ianni, 88, of Oakfield, machine operator and line worker at the former Comstock Foods in Bergen, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo.

Mrs. Ianni was born March 15, 1922 in Barre, a daughter of the late Charles and Lovina Rowley Weatherbee.

Mrs. Ianni enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, games, putting puzzles together and playing rummy cube. She enjoyed sports, especially the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills.

Her husband, Umberto "Umba" Ianni, died in January, 1976.

She is the loving mother of Laura Ianni of Medina; sister-in-law of Mario Ianni of Lockport, Angie (Joseph) Mattioli of Akron, Mary (Benny) Giambrone and Rose Ianni, both of Oakfield. She is also survived by a special friend, Mary Clark of Medina, several nieces and nephews including Donna Chloe Bartholf of Oakfield. Mrs. Ianni will also be missed by her beloved dogs, Brandy and Josie.

She is the sister of the late Duane and Stuart Weatherbee and Geraldine Hale.

Friends may call on Saturday from 10 to 12 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, where services will follow at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 315 Alberta Drive, Amherst, New York 14226 or to Mercy Flight Central, 2420 Brickyard Road, Canandaigua, New York 14424.
