Gordie E. Hopkins

Batavia - Mr. Gordie E. Hopkins, 56, of Batavia, died suddenly on the land that he loved in Holley on Saturday, July 3, 2010.

Mr. Hopkins was born May 19, 1954 in Buffalo, the son of the late Everett S. “Red” and Mary "Pat" (Stevens) Hopkins.

Mr. Hopkins enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing and collecting rocks. A giving man, he loved to help people and was a skilled craftsman and carpenter.

Survivors include wife, Linne (Brooks) Hopkins of Batavia; two daughters, Kerry (fiancé Mike Karbowski) Hopkins of Lewiston and Lindsey Hopkins of Oakfield; a son, Ian Hopkins of Batavia; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Talia; two sisters, Ruth (Ronald) Zentz of Basom and Patricia (Jerry Power) Hopkins of Franklinville and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by a son, Gordon Everett Hopkins.  

Calling hours are Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 at the Oakfield United Methodist Church, 2 South Main Street, Oakfield. Services will be at 2:00 Saturday also at the church. Memorials may be made to the family, to be distributed to various charities. Condolences may be made at www.burdettandsanford.com
