Age 74, of Batavia, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon October 19, 2016 at United Memorial Medical Center. He was born July 30, 1942 in Batavia, NY a son of the late George and Caroline (Cooper) Underhill also preceded in death by brothers, Hugh, Theodore, Archie and Charles. 

Mr. Underhill was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Elba, the Elba Grange and a lifelong farmer who with his son, Dan ran Underhill Farms. His roots were farming, his life was farming, to the extent he built the home his family lives in and the barns around the farm. He enjoyed his four legged companions, Dixie & Lexie and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Buffalo Bills and Syracuse Orange. 

Surviving is his beloved wife of 51 years, Judith (Lasal) Underhill of Batavia, children, Julie (Matthew) Spencer of NC, Daniel (Melissa Giessler) Underhill of Batavia, Deborah (John) Igoe of Oakfield, Kevin (Stephanie) Underhill of Batavia and Jeffrey (Tiffany) Underhill of MT; siblings, Carolyn Smith of Batavia, Ruth (David) Rigerman of Batavia; sisters-in-law, Alice of Attica and Florence of Batavia; grandchildren, George, Jenifer, Andrew, Steven, John Jr., Mayson, Emilyanne, Emma, Avery and Hadley along with many nieces and nephews. 

The Underhill family will be present from 2-4PM Sunday October 23 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 WEST MAIN STREET ROAD BATAVIA, NEW YORK 14020 where funeral services will immediately follow. He will be laid to rest in Maple Lawn Cemetery 11:00AM Monday October 24 and memorials in his memory can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Elba.
