Andre Carmel

LeRoy / Wyoming ~ Andre Carmel, age 79, of Transit Road, passed away Saturday morning (October 22, 2016) at Rochester General Hospital in the loving presence of his family.

    

He was born April 27, 1937 in St. Bruno, Quebec, a son of the late Armand and Delia Many Carmel.

     Andre was a loving man, who was dedicated to his family, not only locally, but also to his family in Canada.  He was known for his friendly demeanor and his devoted religious faith.  Those that had the pleasure to be called his friend, knew what a hard worker he was.  It seemed as though work was a hobby to him.  He enjoyed being a mason and a business owner.  He also loved to travel and meet new people.

     He was predeceased by his first wife, Kathleen Collins Carmel in 1997, along with 7 siblings.

     He will be sadly missed by his wife of 16 years, Esther Goodie Carmel; his children, Andre (Eileen) Carmel of LeRoy, Kathleen (Andrew) Hulme of Pavilion, Douglas Bauer of Elba, Laura Cunningham of Attica, Carol Robinson of Batavia and Jeffrey (Kim) Bauer of Batavia; 14 grandchildren; brother, Laurent (Suzanne) Carmel of Quebec, sister, Lucienne Carmel of Quebec, along with several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     Visitation, services and interment for Andre will be held in his hometown of St. Bruno, Quebec later in the week.  A local memorial service will be held at a future date to be announced.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Lipson Cancer Institute, c/o United Memorial Medical Center, 127 North Street, Batavia, N.Y. 14020
