Lois A. Geer

Lois A. Geer, 7of Alexander, NY died July 17, 2010 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice. 

Born October 15, 1936 in Batavia, NY daughter of Lawson J. Pontius of Batavia and the late Emma (Netzen) Pontius. 

Mrs. Geer was a secretary at Alexander School for 22 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Alexander United Methodist Church where she was very active, sang in the Choir and was the membership secretary. She was a member of the Happy Agers and their trip coordinator, Meals on Wheels, Senior Citizen Advisory Council, the Alexander Tonawanda Valley Grange and past member of the Alexander Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Lois loved to cook and bake, travel and entertain.

Preceded in death by a brother in law Gary Bauer. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Norris L. Geer of Alexander whom she married on September 8, 1956. Three daughters Deborah (Tracy) Stokes of Batavia, Brenda (David) Luksch of Boulder, CO; Valerie (Scott) Letourneau of Newfield, NY. One sister Sally Bauer of Ontario, NY, 7 grandchildren Christopher (Lauren) Stokes, Emily Stokes, Laura Stokes, Benjamin Luksch, Jessica Luksch, Lilly Letourneau and Wesley Letourneau  who survive along with several nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call from 1-3 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday July 20th at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday July 21st at the Alexander United Methodist Church, 10540 Main Road, Alexander, New York 14005. 

Burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Alexander, New York. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alexander United Methodist Church, 10540 Main Road, Alexander, NY 14005 or to HomeCare and Hospice 550 E. Main St. Batavia, NY 14020.
