Age 83, of Batavia, died peacefully Wednesday November 2, 2016 at the Genesee County Nursing Home. She was born June 10, 1933 in Trucksville, PA, a daughter of the late Albert and Evelyn (Smythe) Williams, also preceded in death by husbands, Melvin Kapperman and Harold Hale; son, Brian Kapperman; grandson, Charles F. Hensel; siblings, George Williams and Irene Martin.
Margaret was a longtime member of the East Bethany Presbyterian Church and worked for many years at Genesee Community College. She enjoyed her card club for many years, a volunteer organizer for the senior meal site in East Bethany and was known for knitting especially her "GG Blanket".
Surviving are her children, Brad (Brenda Cunningham) Kapperman of Batavia, Barb (Jim Carpenter) Kapperman of Batavia, Brenda (Dick) Stearns of Canandaigua and Bev (Bruce) Torquato of Batavia; brother, Frederick Williams of Cheektowaga; sister-in-law, Joanne Williams; 4 grandchildren, Allison (Dennie) Lougheed, Laura Kulikowski, Nikki (Michael Pepe) Hall and Geoff (Amie) Handy along with 8 great-grandchildren, 3 step-children and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present from 5-7PM on Saturday Nov. 5 and Sunday Nov. 6 from 12-2PM at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where a Celebration of Life will begin at 2PM. Memorials in her memory are suggested to Crossroads House 11 Liberty Street Batavia, NY 14020.
