John W. Genesky

John W.  Genesky, 96 of Batavia, NY died August 13, 2010 at Batavia Nursing Home. Born June 25, 1914 in Batavia, New York son of the late William (Elizabeth Frieday) Genesky. 

Mr. Genesky was retired from Doehler Jarvis where he worked for 39 years. He was a member of Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph’s). He was an active member of the Doehler-Jarvis Retiree’s Chapter 1057 and long time treasurer, member of the Msgr. Kirby Knights of Columbus #325 in Batavia and a life member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #950 in Batavia. Mr. Genesky also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was active at the Batavia Senior Center where he enjoyed playing cards. 

Mr. Genesky was preceded in death by his wife Bertha E. Balbick Genesky in 1990, and two brothers Edward and William Genesky Jr. and two sisters the late Margaret Mingle and Mabel Drachenburg. 

Survived by his brothers Robert (Dora) Genesky of Oakfield, and Leonard Genesky of Webster NY. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Friends may call Monday August 16, 2010 from 4 to 8:00 PM at the Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company Inc 329-333 West Main St. Batavia. 14020. 

Prayer will be recited Tuesday August 17, 2010 at 9:00 AM at the Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company Inc. 329-333 West Main St Batavia followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph’s R. C. Church) 303 East Main St. Batavia, NY 14020, at 9:30 AM. Entombment will be in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum in Batavia.
