MRS. FRANCES H. SLOVICK

Batavia - Mrs. Frances H. Slovick, 92, of Batavia, who worked in operations and programming at Doehler-Jarvis Division Of National Lead in Batavia for over 30 years, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at the New York State Veteran's Home.

Mrs. Slovick was born December 21, 1917 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Frank and Wanda Stachowski Yasses.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the Widow's group of the church. Mrs. Slovick also taught Data Processing at BOCES.

Her husband, John F. Slovick, died in 1975.

Survivors include three brothers, Frank (Lorraine) Yasses and Leonard Yasses, both of Batavia and Edwin (Mickey) Yasses of Stafford; three sisters, Genevieve Rudolph and Dolores Krantz, both of Batavia and Alice (Amelio) Taddei of Oakfield; several nieces and nephews including Laurie Hopkins, Sandra Hussar and Valerie Maher, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was a sister of the late Irene Bachulak, Alfreda Walton, Lorraine Maher, Theodore Yasses, and Henry Yasses.

There are no prior calling hours. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia. Entombment will be in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.
