MAXINE A. GRASSO

Batavia - Mrs. Maxine A. Grasso, 68, of Batavia, retired food service manager at Notre Dame High School in Batavia, died Monday, August 30, 2010 at United Memorial Medical Center.

Mrs. Grasso was born June 21, 1942 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Max and Eugenia Halor Baszczynski.

A member of Ascension Parish and their Altar and Rosary Society, Mrs. Grasso enjoyed traveling with her husband.

She loved her grandchildren and her Notre Dame “family” where she devoted much of her time.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jerome Grasso; her children,  Nancy (Michael) Piscitillo of Boston, New York,  Lisa (Steven) Grice of Batavia and Jay (Hope) Grasso of LeRoy; her son-in-law, John Netter of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Cara Piscitillo of Boston, New York,  Alex and Casey Grice of Batavia and  Zachary, Nicholas and Hailey Grasso of LeRoy; her brother, Robert (Marge) Baszczynski of Utah; her sister, Christine (Stan) Radwan of Evans and several nieces and nephews.

She is the mother of the late Nadine M. Grasso-Netter who died January 29, 2009.

Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Ascension Parish - St. Anthony's Church, 122 Liberty Street, Batavia. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Batavia.
