Stafford - Jean C. Smith, 83, of Stafford, died Sunday, (September 5, 2010)at the United Memorial Medical Center.
She was born September 16, 1926 in Batavia, a daughter of the late C. Vernon and Florence (Thee) Carnahan.
A member of the Morganville United Church of Christ, she belonged to the Ladies Aid through the church. She was also a member of the local Red Hats Society, was an administrative assistant at Lapp Insulator for 27 years, volunteered at the Salvation Army and worked at the snack shop at United Memorial Medical Center. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading and traveling.  
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Sikora of Bergen and Donna (Todd) Steverson of LeRoy; a son, Mark (Teresa) Smith of York; seven grandchildren and several cousins.
She is the sister of the late Nancy Carnahan.  
 
There are no prior calling hours. Services will be at 1:00 Saturday at the Morganville United Church of Christ, 8466 Morganville Road, Stafford. Burial will be in Stafford Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Morganville United Church of Christ, Attention: Ladies Aid, 8466 Morganville Road, Stafford, N.Y. 14143 or American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Parkway West, Amherst, N.Y. 14228.
