MATTHEW LIEBERMAN

Batavia - Matthew Lieberman, 23, of Batavia died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, in Buffalo following a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

 
Matthew was born July 22, 1987 in Buffalo, a son of Linda Lee Terrell Lieberman of Batavia and the late Howard Lieberman.

Fighting his cancer for the entirety of his senior year, Matthew graduated on time with a Pre-Medical Bachelor
s of Science focusing on Sports Medicine from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA. Despite his battle, Matthew remained a committed leader on campus as president of the Sports Medicine Student Association.
 
Matthew’s love for sports extended outside the classroom.  He was a longstanding fan of the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees, and would watch football and baseball games as often as he could.  His knowledge of and skill in technology and computer science proved his talent knew no bounds. Nor did his heart: he loved dogs, cared for his family and was dedicated to his beloved fiancée, Jenelle Remington.

Surviving along with his mother are his siblings, Joshua Lieberman of New York City and Alicia Lieberman of Batavia; his fiancée, Jenelle Remington of Penfield; several aunts and uncles including, Teri and David Tanenhaus of Binghamton, NY and Marcia Lieberman of Lexington, MA and several cousins and friends.

Friends may call on Friday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia.  Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, Harvester Avenue, Batavia.  Memorials may be made to the Michael Napoleone Memorial Foundation, Inc., P.O.
