Batavia - Ronald P. Dixon, 54, of Batavia, a truck driver at Lynn H. Scott Inc. of Blossvale, NY, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.

Mr. Dixon was born May 22, 1956 in Batavia, the son of Virginia (Jeffers) Dixon Ackers and the late Willis Dixon.

He served with the Marine Corps from 1974 to 1976. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler, camper, and NASCAR fan who followed Jeff Burton. He was also a member of the Genesee County Fish and Game Protective Association at Godfrey's Pond.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda (Hirsch) Dixon, whom he married December, 12, 1978; a son, Ronald (Desiree') Dixon Jr. of Batavia; a daughter, Danielle Dixon Ryan of Batavia, 2 brothers, William (Terry) Dixon of NC and Dennis (Holly) Dixon of Painted Post, a sister, Peggy (Jon) Landin of Corfu; 5 grandchildren Hailey Dixon of Batavia, Sarai-Lyn Dixon of Batavia, Kolyan Ohlson of Batavia, Arianna Ohlson of Batavia and Blake Carpenter of Batavia and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where services will follow at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Condolences may be made at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com.
