Mrs. Josephine Pacer

Batavia - Mrs. Josephine Pacer, 86, of Batavia, a retired inspector at Oliver's Candies, died Friday, (October 15, 2010) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Mrs. Pacer was born August 18, 1924 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Louis and Rose Scammaca DeFino.

She was a member of Ascension Parish - St. Anthony's Church.

Survivors include three sons, Robert (Susan) Pacer of Stafford, Martin Pacer of Akron and Alan (Eileen) Pacer of Tennessee; grandchildren, Kevin Pacer of LeRoy, Kathleen Pacer of Cleveland, Martin (Danielle) Pacer of Corfu, Sarah Pacer of Clearwater, Florida, Andrew Pacer, Stacia Pacer and Vincent Pacer, all of Naples, Florida; great grandchildren, Annabel Rumenapp and Michael Pacer; a sister, Jennie Hawks of Batavia; two sisters-in-law, Alice (Frank) Anders of Medina and Rita (Homer) Warden of Akron and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Arthur F. Pacer died in 1997. She is the grandmother of the late Jason Pacer, sister of the late Salvatore "Spats" DeFino, Mary Klute, Anne LaFarnara, Millie Povorski and Betty Margarine and sister-in-law of the late Felicia Lotz and Donald Pacer.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main St. Batavia. Her Mass of Christian Burial will at Ascension Parish - St. Anthony's Church, 122 Liberty St. on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery Memorials may be made to the family for distribution to various charities.  Condolences may be made at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com
