Gaylord R. Ace Sr., 72 of Basom, NY. Died October 23, 2010 peacefully at his son’s home surrounded by his family. Born August 18, 1938 in Orchard Park, New York to the late Floyd (Edith Harmon) Ace. Mr. Ace worked for Batavia Wine Factory. He was a United States Navy Veteran. Some of his hobbies include hunting, fishing, listening to Bluegrass and Gospel music. 
 
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary Ann (Maltby) Ace of Basom; sons Gaylord R. (Cheryl) Ace Jr. of Ft. Smith, AR; Brian (Tracy) Ace Sr. of Batavia; Matthew Ace of Basom; daughters Terry (Dan) Yates of Batavia; Barbara (Tom) Bodie of Gassport; Mae (Bob) Shafer of Batavia; brother James (Carol) Ace of Belfast; sister Audrey Miller of Ft. Collins, CO; 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren survive along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 
 
Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Wednesday October 27, 2010 at the Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 W. Main St. Batavia, NY 14020. Funeral Services will take place 11:00 AM on Thursday October 28, 2010 at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Alabama Cemetery, Alabama, NY.
