Batavia - Mrs. Juanita Peck Hyde, 71, of Batavia, a secretary at Jackson School in Batavia, until her retirement in 1999, died Thursday, December 2, 2010at her residence, in Batavia.
Mrs. Hyde was born May 12, 1939 in Batavia, the daughter of the late Tyler and Helen (Little) Peck.
She was a lifetime member of the Batavia First United Methodist Church. She formerly worked at John Kennedy School, Genesee County Health Department, Kozak and J.C. Penny. She enjoyed reading and was described as a very loving person; friendly, engaging and loved children. She was an avid conversationalist.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph G. Hyde, whom she married February 14, 1959; 2 sons, Kevin (Sandra) Hyde of Beaver Creek, Ohio and Steven (JoAnn) Hyde of Batavia; a grandson, Robert Hyde of Batavia and a granddaughter, Carissa Hyde of Batavia.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St., Batavia. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 8221 Lewiston Rd., Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads House, P.O. Box 403, Batavia, NY 14021.
