Robert McCarthy, 88 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 14, 2017 at United Memorial Medical Center. He was born December 24, 1928 in Pembroke, NY to the late Ray (Nellie Buckman) McCarthy.

Mr. McCarthy was the Director of Environmental Services at St. Jerome Hospital in Batavia. He was a Sgt First Class in the United States Army and a Korean Conflict Veteran. He was part of the 25th Div. 27th Wolfhounds, receiving a Purple Heart, 3 Bronze Stars, Korean Service Medal, Japan Occupation Medal, United Nations Service Award, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Presidential Unit Emblem.  

He is survived by his loving wife Frances R. (Zalenski) McCarthy.

There will be no prior calling hours and services will be private. He will be entombed in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Batavia.
