Veronica Ann Chilano, 91 of Batavia, NY. Died February 20, 2011 at the Batavia Nursing Home.

Born January 8, 1920 in Warsaw, New York. She is daughter of the late James (Bernice Millspaugh) Hayes. Mrs. Chilano retired from working with the New York State Police at the Troop A Barracks in Batavia. She was an avid card player and loved crossword puzzles. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Russell L. Chilano and her brother James Hayes. She is survived by her son Joseph J. (Meg) Chilano of Batavia; daughter Patricia Chilano of Batavia; grandchildren Michael (Catherine) Chilano of Rochester; Andrew Chilano of Akron; great-grandchildren Samantha and Nicholas Chilano; Godson Victor “Chip” Poole of Batavia, along with several nieces and nephews also survive. 

There will be no prior calling hours. 11:00 AM Funeral Services will take place on Saturday February 26, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum on Ellicott Street in Batavia. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Batavia.
