HUGH F. UNDERHILL

Mr. Hugh F. Underhill Darien Center - Mr. Hugh F. Underhill, 84, of Darien Center, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at his home while under the care of HomeCare & Hospice.

Mr. Underhill was born December 23, 1926 in Batavia, a son of the late George and Caroline Cooper Underhill. Mr. Underhill also worked at Batavia Metal Products for 21 years prior to working at Attica Package Company. He served during World War II with the Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Alice J. Warner Underhill whom he married November 6, 1948 two sons, Donald Underhill of Wyoming and William (Maryann)  Underhill of Tonawanda; a daughter, Linda (David) Edinger of Tully; six grandchildren, Michelle Taubman, Matthew and Courtney Edinger, Megan and Joshua Underhill and Ryan; three great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Judy) Underhill of Batavia; two sisters, Carolyn (Jay) Smith and Ruth (David) Rigerman, both of Batavia; a sister-in-law, Florence Underhill of Batavia and several nieces and nephews.

He is the brother of the late Charles, Ted and Archie Underhill.

There are no prior calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to DAV chapter 166 - Van Fund, and in the memo to designate "Van Replacement Fund", VAMC Batavia, Room 2-102, 222 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, New York 14020 or to HomeCare & Hospice, 550 East Main Street, Batavia, New York 14020.
