JOSEPHINE C. SARACENI ~ Batavia

Age 94, went peacefully home to the Lord Thursday afternoon March 30, 2017 at United Memorial Medical Center. She was born March 25, 1923 in Batavia, NY a daughter of the late Frank and Carrie (Turenella) Anzalone; also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred P. Saraceni on Feb. 6, 2014; sons Alfred and siblings, Charles, Samuel & Ross Anzalone, Ida Dickinson and Mary Johnson. 

Mrs. Saraceni was longtime member of Resurrection Parish and enjoyed her 4 legged companion, Sam. She enjoyed the many trips her and her husband took in earlier years, she was a wonderful cook and baker who most enjoyed the "Christmas Parties" she held for her grandchildren with their favorite cookies and sweets. 

Surviving are her loving children, Arthur Saraceni and Karen Woods both of Batavia, Amy (James) Thompson of FL and Germaine (Robert) Osborne of NC; daughter-in-law, Jane Saraceni of Batavia; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces & nephews. 

The Saraceni family will be present from 3 - 7 pm on Sunday April 2 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where prayers will be recited 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial Monday April 3 at Resurrection Parish (St. Mary's Site). She will be laid to rest in alongside her husband in St. Joseph's Cemetery and memorials are suggested to UMMC c/o 2nd Floor 127 North St. Batavia and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital PO Box 50 Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
