Roger A. Loos

Batavia - Roger A. Loos, 69, of Batavia, facilities manager at the Falleti Ice Arena in Batavia for 22 years, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, in Buffalo.

Mr. Loos was born June 19, 1947 in Lockport, a son of the late Albert and Jennie Sirline Loos.

A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Roger was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters and American Legion Post No. 332. He enjoyed camping, gardening and woodworking. Roger loved being with his family and spending time with his great-grandchildren. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ella Moxham Loos, whom he married October 18, 1969; his children, Shannon Guiste of Batavia, Karen Loos of Marilla,  Michele (Jim) Lucki of Oakfield,  Jeffrey (Linda) Loos of Attica and Stacy Jouppi of Springwater; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman (Carol) Loos of Lancaster and Linus (fiancée Sue Griffin) Loos of Depew; his sister,  Carolyn (Ken) Barber of Mississippi and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 31 Washington Avenue, where funeral services, along with full military honors, will follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to St. Paul Lutheran School Tuition Fund, 31 Washington Avenue, Batavia, New York 14020.
