Leonard L. Shuknecht

Leonard L. Shuknecht, 83, of Elba, passed away on Saturday (May 27, 2017) at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Batavia.

Leonard was born November 25, 1933 in Batavia, a son of the late John and Freda (Foote) Shuknecht.

Following his career with Shuknecht Farms in Elba, Leonard continued his farm life with Offhaus Farms and then Goodrich Farm Supply.  He enjoyed planting his fall harvest and cherished his time he spent with his customers at his road side stand. Leonard is a member of the Elba United Methodist Church, he is a United States Army Veteran and could be seen quite frequently helping the Elba Ladies Auxiliary. 

Survivors include his children, Sandra (Phillip Hoo) Shuknecht of Elba, Gail (Michael) Gawlak of Lawtons and David (Peggy) Shuknecht of Elba; one sister, Irma (Vincent) Squire of Batavia and three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Leonard is the husband of the late Jean H. Shuknecht, brother of the late Lavern Shuknecht and Neil Shuknecht and brother-in-law of the late Eleanor Shuknecht.  

Calling hours are Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia, where Leonard’s funeral will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m.  Burial with full military honors will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba.
