Patricia M. Ireland (Brasser)

Patricia M. Ireland (Brasser), 55 of Bergen, died peacefully Thursday evening surrounded by family and loved ones at Strong Memorial Hospital. 

She was born February 4, 1956 in Rochester, daughter of Rita (Meisanzahl) Brasser of Rochester and the late Clarence “Mike” Brasser.  Survived in death by her children Katie, Jimmy and Beth; former husband Ed Ireland; long time boyfriend Steve Beswick; siblings John (Andree) Brasser, Jim (Beth) Brasser, Kathryn (Mike) Caramanna and Eileen Brasser; her aunts, Barbara Brasser and Frances Weeks; many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends – as well as her much loved dog, Sydney.

Patty was an active member of St. Brigid’s Church in Bergen and was employed by SUNY Geneseo (CAS).  She was a graduate of GCC and Roberts Wesleyan College and a member of the Class of ’74 of Our Lady of Mercy High School.  She was always involved in her children’s activities at their Alma Mater, Notre Dame High School of Batavia.  A devoted mother, Patty also made time for several interests; country line dancing, antiquing and gardening.  Known for her generosity, delightful sense of humor and the joy she brought to others, Patty will be greatly missed by family, co-workers and friends.

Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 S. Lake St., Bergen, NY.  Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at St. Brigid's Church, 18 Gibson Street, Bergen.  In lieu of flowers memorials in Patty’s name may be made to Mercy Flight of Western NY, 100 Amherst Villa Rd., Buffalo, NY  14225 or the charity of the donor's choice.  Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester.
