Catherine M. Darch

Catherine M. Darch, 76 of Batavia died January 1, 2012 at United Memorial Medical Center. She was born March 29, 1935 in Batavia to the late Frank (Assunta DeCelso) DiFilippo. Catherine was retired from WROTB in Batavia where she worked for many years as a telephone supervisor. She was a member of Ascension Parish (St. Anthony’s Church) where she was very active, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and she formerly taught CCD classes. She loved her family and entertaining company. She is preceded in death by her brothers Nicholas, Rocco, Joseph, Victor, Frank Jr. and Vincent DiFilippo.
                                                                                                                        
Catherine  is survived by her beloved husband Robert L. Darch of Batavia, son Kenneth (Angela) Darch of Batavia, daughter Cynthia (Kenneth) Kowalik of Elba, one brother Carmen (Penny) DiFilippo of Batavia. 5 Grandchildren Robert (Michelle) Darch of Batavia, Rebecca Darch of Buffalo, Ryan Darch of Batavia, Eric and Chad Kowalik both of Elba and one great grandchild Dominic Darch; brother-in-law Lawrence (Dee) Darch of FL, four sisters-in-law Bernice, Veronica, Susan and Amelia DiFilippo survive along with many nieces and nephews. 

Friends are invited to call on Thursday January 5, 2012 from 4 to 8 PM at the Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main St. Batavia, New York 14020. Prayers  will be recited 12 Noon Friday January 6, 2012at the funeral home followed by a 12:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Ascension Parish (St. Anthony’s Church), 122 Liberty Street, Batavia, New York. Interment will take place in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia, NY.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Pulmonary and Critical Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14602.
