Donald Peters

Stafford - Donald Peters, 87, of Stafford, a 40 year employee of Lapp Insulator, in LeRoy, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at his daughter’s home under the care of HomeCare & Hospice.

Mr. Peters was born February 11, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN, a son of the late Arthur and Jessie (Hall) Peters.

He served honorably with the US Army Air Corps as a B25 pilot, during WW II.  He was awarded the Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross. Donald was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Batavia as well as a member and past President of the Stafford Fire Department. 

Surviving along with his wife, Betty (Hahn) Peters, whom he married March 4, 1944, is a daughter, Darleene (Temple Lewis) Peters of East Bethany; a sister-in- law, Wanda (Hahn) Nicholson of CA; nieces, Diane (Peters) Larsen of MN, Capy (Peters) Rudiger of WI, and Becky (Nicholson) Sprong of CA, nephews, Paul Demko of LeRoy, David Demko of Batavia, and Ronnie Nicholson of CA.

Donald is preceded in death by his brother, William Peters, and sister, Dorothy Peters.

There will be no prior visitation.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HomeCare & Hospice, 550 E.
