Laura G. Krauss

Laura was born in Perry, New York on October 15, 1924 a daughter of the late Irving and Sarah Willey Krauss. Laura was a 1941 graduate of Perry High School, graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College with her Bachelor’s Degree, and Master’s Degree from Brockport College, and took some additional courses from University of Rochester. She was an elementary teacher for the Rochester City School District for 21 years retiring in 1984.She was a member of the Grace and Truth Christian Fellowship Church in Mt. Morris, she was active in the Christian Women’s Club in Rochester, where she held several offices, and held many friendship bible coffees at her home, a former Sunday school teacher, which inspired her to teach. She was a member of the Perry Garden Club, volunteered at the Community Clothes Closet where she took care of their window displays, Mutual friends of Perry, a former 4-H leader for the Patchwork Pals, and she enjoyed gardening and crafts. She is preceded in death by 9 siblings Lucile VanTyne; Elizabeth Popp; Marion, Carrie, Eloise, Benson, Walter, Leonard, and George Krauss.

She is survived by a sister-in-law: Doris Krauss of Perry, 8 nieces and nephews: John (Evelyn) Krauss of Elba, Joyce (Robert) Krauss-Speicher of Fillmore, Darlene (Ralph) Taylor of Castile, Pamela (William) Wallum of Silver Springs, Gary (Patty) Krauss of Greece, Dawn (Clyde) Lamb of Lima, Susan (Ralph) Mucher of Warsaw, Linda (Robert) Nieman of Livonia along with many great nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends may call from 3-7pm on Thursday May 17th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. in Perry, NY 14530. Services will be held on Friday May 18th at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Perry.
