Delbert P. Howard

Delbert P. Howard, 93 of Batavia, went peacefully home to be with the Lord November 9, 2012 at the Villages of Orleans in Albion. He was born June 20, 1919 in Brockton, NY to the late Enos (Libby Brown) Howard. Mr. Howard was a United States Navy Veteran and served his country proudly in WWII. He was retired from GTE Sylvania and also ran Ben Del’s Donut shop in Alexander. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, the VFW and American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Howard cherished the time he spent camping with his family and had a real passion for his pet dogs. He is reunited with his beloved wife of 59 years Catherine (Paas) Howard who died in 2007; daughter Donna Howard Hickox; great-grandson Caleb Cere; sisters Marion Kessler; Doris Sixt; Lorraine Speed; and Helen Howard. 

He is survived by daughter Dawn (David) Sisson; son Delbert (Susan) Howard; both of Batavia; 4 grandchildren Kevin (Cheryl) McAllister; Daniel Howard; Heather Bibbins; Kailee Sisson; 3 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Monday November 12, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main St. Batavia, NY 14020. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday November 13, 2012 at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.
