Josephine C. Kean

 Josephine C. Kean, 91, of Basom, died peacefully on Friday (January 18, 2013) at her residence.

She was born in Marshall, NC on December 9, 1921, a daughter of the late Jack and Minnie Caldwell.

She was one of fifteen children and spent her childhood in North Carolina. Josephine was employed by General Motors Axel Co. in Buffalo prior to her retirement.  She loved to cook and bake and was well known for her “Sweet Buns”.  Josephine also loved gardening, crocheting and ceramics.  Most of all she will be known to her family as a caring and loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah E. Conway of Batavia. Son, Christopher C. Kean of Basom.  Grandchildren, Sean (Jess) Conway, Tanya (Tony) Mech, Stacy (Jeff) Rankin and Christopher Conway.  Great-grandhcildren Jonathan, Edan, Ayla, Alyssa and Alex.  Sisters, Victoria Caldwell of North Carolina and Jeanette Swift of Michigan.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a memorial service on Wednesday ( Jan. 23rd), 1pm at the J. Leonard McAndrew Funeral Home, LLC, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia.
