Mary C. Fasano, 83, of Batavia, died Thursday (February 21, 2013) at Batavia Health Care Center.
She was born in Batavia on February 28, 1929, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Aquino Copani.
Her husband Angelo Fasano died in 1987.
Mrs. Fasano was a Pharmacy Technician at the former St. Jerome Hospital of Batavia prior to her retirement and was a life member of Ascension Parish (St. Anthony's Church). Mary was a long time employee of the S.S. Kresge Co. of Batavia and a former manager for the Plaid Stamp Redemption Center also of Batavia. She worked for the former HY-Top Pharmacy of Batavia. She was very fond of her dog Sam and cat Magic and was an avid bowler and enjoyed flower gardening around her home.
Surviving is her son, Jerry (Candy) Fasano of Albion, sisters: Josephine Burke of TN, Nicola (late Lon) Midkiff of Batavia and Grace (James) Deni of Batavia, brothers: Jack (Carol) Copani and Carmen (Sandy) Copani, all of Batavia. Many nieces and nephews also survive along with her best friend, Florence Pontillo of Batavia. She was the sister of the late Sandy Orr.
Friends of the family are cordially invited to share their thoughts, condolences and fond memories with the family on Tuesday from 8:30am to 9:30am at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA, where prayers will be at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Ascension Parish (Sacred Heart Church). Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
